Dug’s Village get’s $5,000 grant from the United States of America for Wind Power

** Some of what you are about to read is true and some of it is not **
On my arrival back to the village elders had great news our village had qualified for a grant to install a wind generator in our village. The United States Government is going to match our funds 100% for this project.
Only the United States would pay for a project in Botswana, during a time when thousands of their citizens are loosing their houses. Boy do we love that stimulus package. We do have some work to do to get this grant. The Wind Generator we want to install is $10,000 the reason for the high price is the generator we are going to install can also power a mechanical pump to pump water from our local stream to the village. (See Picture)

We will need to raise $5,000 in matching funds to receive the cash from the United States. This will be no easy task as currently our village treasury is very low after the money we had spent on our compost toilets.

I am going to work with the village elders on some fund raising activities more on that later. I got an invite from Dwayne to go to Las Vegas this week I wish I would have gotten the invite last week while I was in the United States. So it looks like on Thursday I will be heading back, more on that trip in my next post.

I had a great week of poker played 12.6 hours and won $608.00 for an hourly of $48.19 setting another record week. Both from a total stand point and an hourly standpoint. Below are my best and worst hands of the month.

Dealt to DUG [Jc Js]
bostonhitman: folds
toimy12: calls $2
Pappi: folds
zrlevin: folds
DUG: calls $2 So why did I limp with JJ, I rarly do, but you have to maybe 5% of the time to mix up your play. At this table I think I will get a raise before the flop so I will be safe, can either re-raise of call.
Berge20: raises $10 to $12 Perfect might have JJ – AA or AK or AQ. I doubt JJ since I have 2 of them.
ldk255: folds
hccharger: folds
toimy12: folds
DUG: calls $10 Have to call hope for a set.
*** FLOP *** [2s Jd 9c] Perfect, since I limped in he might put me on 22 or 99 but not JJ.
DUG: checks Let him keep the betting.
Berge20: bets $20
DUG: raises $45 to $65 I want this to look like a steal. If I hit my set I would not raise as there are no real scare cards that could come. I want him to think I am stealing. And I want to build the pot.
Berge20: calls $45 Perfect
*** TURN *** [2s Jd 9c] [7c] This is fine.
DUG: bets $75 Weak bet less then half the pot.
